DesSoft Technical Summary:
Problem: Lack of up to date and accurate documentation in a plant or operation can lead to extended plant downtime when a fault occurs. Tracing of faults consumes much time therefore accurate, up to date documents, will reduce downtime. Capability to check and sign off on revised documents is crucial. But documents are not revised and kept up to date – reason being that creating documents manually is tedious and timewasting. Software applications should be used to take the drudgery out of creating accurate reports, diagrams and revisions leading to vastly improved design times, accurate up to date documents and reduced plant downtime. Some systems make use of Redlining (when making revisions a note is written indicating changes) however only one system can do intelligent redlining.
Intelligent Redlining: the ability to make revisions in only one place; saving to a central database and knowing that the change will reflect in other applications upon opening. Manually updating various documents and tag numbers is now redundant as the software application does this. Benefits of automatically generated reports: Accurate BOM, Racking and Routing, Calculations, Schedules, Diagrams. Use of source documents in spreadsheet formats such as Excel, means creating diagrams, reports and schedules is incredibly quick and applications are therefore flexible across all sectors.
As the applications work from a central database, information can be easily accessed by different departments; further increasing communication and reducing downtime. The ability to automatically integrate information changes to documents and diagrams is another unique aspect of DesSoft developed software applications.
