The SAIMENA Cape Branch invites you to attend the following meeting:

Title: Marine Cyber Security – Making your Maritime Assets Cyber Resiliant
Speaker: Mark Glock
Company: Bureau Veritas

Place: Survival Centre, Granger Bay, Cape Town.
Date: 27 November 2025
Time: 17:30:00

Shipping’s current digital transformation has two major impacts: on the one hand it is enhancing efficiency and performance – but on the other, it has ushered in new cyber threats that could impact operations and safety. This calls for new actions to be taken; actions that will make cyber security not optional, but the new norm for the maritime world.
This presentation will expose participants to engineering measures that should be taken to ensure the safety and resiliance of ship systems from cyber threats.
The presentation will consider the evolution of regulations from 2019 to 2024, the impact of IMO Resolution MSC428(98) on current vessels, and the impact on future vessels of EU R26 Cyber Resilance for Vessels.
Participants will be able to transfer this knowledge to their own projects and also be able correctly engage industry experts in addressing this risk.
