Watch: A floating dock collapses on bulk carrier in Turkey

As explained, while the vessel sustained damage, fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

The cause behind the tilting and sinking of the dock remains unknown. However, the collapse of the dock seems to have occurred as its two sides came towards each other, collapsing both cranes attached to the structure.

As informed, one of the cranes toppled over, striking the bulker vessel Osprey S., which was moored alongside.

The vessel’s AIS signal confirmed that it has been at the shipyard since last October, being refurbished and repaired.

The extent of the damage caused by the crane striking the bulker remains uncertain.
